Today I played another game where the opponent, unnecessarily, “rage quit” in the opening! Now admittedly, I was ahead in this game. I thought that I had pinned and thus will be winning, the opponent’s queen with my bishop. I think they thought so too. However, looks can be deceiving – except for Stockfish. Stockfish wasn’t fooled in the slightest in the analysis.
One of my earliest videos is titled, “Never Give Up, Never Surrender“, and this is certainly true at the beginner-intermediate level, especially in the opening stages of the game. I’ve won games where I was obviously losing, and have similarly lost games when I was clearly winning. Humans aren’t robots, and sometimes, being down material results in imaginative and fun tactics on the board!
I hope you found this game interesting, and thanks for watching!
