I live in the inner city suburb of Newtown, and just under a year ago, one of the best small bars (if not THE best) in Sydney Australia opened. If you’re ever in town, you should definitely check out Huelo! Oysters, charcuterie, and sparking wine? Yes, please!

One of the owners, Swanny, is a chess tragic just like me though his preferred format is blitz.

The other day, I brought over my portable chess set and we played an enormously enjoyable game at the bar. Swanny played a Queen’s Pawn Opening and I responded, of course, with the Englund Gambit! However, he didn’t let me enter the Englund Complex trap line, and then simply outplayed me with superior technique!
