Yesterday, we had a quick unboxing video of the Chessnut sensor chips, and the handmade wooden chess pieces, pre-drilled specifically for the sensor chips, from INDIACHESSART.
Today, I put the two together! It was simple. It was easy. This is undoubtedly the BEST method to make custom pieces! My previous pieces took 40-50 hours to make. This set? I estimate around 2-3 minutes a piece, so it took less than 2 hours! Basically, it took much longer filming and editing this video than making the pieces!
Mr Sarbjit Singh of INDIACHESSART provides a fantastic service to the Chessnut community as most other piece manufacturers will either refuse to custom drill the pieces or charge a very large markup of a limited range of products. I own quite a few sets of wooden chessmen from India, and I found the quality of the craftmanship from INDIACHESSART is equal to the larger manufacturers (e.g., Chess Bazaar and Royal Chess Mall).
I’m very happy with the result, and I will enjoy playing the Vienna Game and the Vienna Gambit using the Austrian/Vienna Coffee House pieces!

Hello Michael,
A very informative video and a beautiful-looking chess set from INDIACHESSART.
Did the Blu Tack prove to be a permanent solution? Or did it dry out with the sensors become loose over time? I’ve not used Blu Tack since I was a student trying to tart up the walls of my grotty room with posters! I’ve seen other people recommending silicone glue.
Personally I’m looking for a set whose size suits the Air+

Yes, the BluTack was a permanent solution. BluTack doesn’t use a volatile binder so it doesn’t “dry out”.
